Fractional executive platforms in the UAE, compared honestly

Every comparison of this kind is written by one of the companies in it, and this one is no exception: getoperators is on the list below. So nothing here is ranked, everything said about anybody else is their own public claim rather than our assessment, and where somebody else is a better fit than us the page says so.

The honest answer to “which is best”

There is no best one, and a list that picks a winner is telling you about its own commercial arrangements rather than about your problem. These are four different products that share a word. Work out which of them you want and the shortlist writes itself.

Browsable benchesYou look through profiles yourself, see who is there, and approach the ones who fit. Fastest and cheapest when you already know what the seat needs. The sifting is your work.
Matched marketplacesYou describe the role and the platform comes back with a shortlist, usually inside a few days. You are buying their judgement about fit, and paying for it in the fee or the margin on the rate.
Job boardsYou post the role and fractional executives apply. Cheap, sometimes free, and the volume is yours to handle. Good when the seat is easy to describe and you have time to read applications.
Fractional firms and practicesThe firm supplies one of its own people, usually on a monthly retainer, with a bench behind them. You get continuity and somebody to hold accountable, at a premium over engaging an individual direct.
Search practicesSomebody runs the market against a written brief and presents a shortlist they can defend. Worth it when the seat is hard, the market is not obvious, or you do not have time to sift. Priced on the appointment.

How to tell a real platform from a lead form

The most-asked question in this category is some version of "is this one legitimate", and three checks answer it for any of them. Can you see actual people before you hand over your details, or is there only a form? Is a price published anywhere on the site, or does every path lead to a call? And can they tell you specifically what their vetting consisted of, rather than asserting that people are vetted? Something failing all three is usually collecting enquiries to pass on, not holding a bench.

What is specific to hiring in the UAE

The Emirates has one question that does not arise in London or New York, and it should be asked before anything else: under what licence does the operator provide the service. Somebody working here generally needs their own company, a freelance permit, or a visa sponsored by somebody. A platform that cannot answer that for the people it is putting in front of you is handing you a risk rather than carrying it. Ask it of every name on this page, including ours.

Browsable benches

You look through profiles yourself, see who is there, and approach the ones who fit. Fastest and cheapest when you already know what the seat needs. The sifting is your work.

getoperators

A browsable bench of verified operators with the day rate published on every profile, plus a paid search service. Booked direct, with nothing taken from the operator's rate.

Suits: UAE companies who want the rate visible up front and are comfortable shortlisting themselves. Plainly: our Gulf bench is the smallest of our three markets, and if what you need is deep local knowledge of UAE corporate tax filing or free zone compliance specifically, one of the UAE-native practices above is a better first call than us.

Covers: UK, US and the Gulf

Matched marketplaces

You describe the role and the platform comes back with a shortlist, usually inside a few days. You are buying their judgement about fit, and paying for it in the fee or the margin on the rate.

Toptal

One of the oldest talent marketplaces in this space, covering fractional CFOs, COOs and other executives alongside its larger freelance technology business. Engages people hourly, part-time or full-time.

Suits: Companies who want a recognised name and a managed process, and are comfortable with a marketplace margin on the rate. Its brand recognition is genuinely an advantage if you have a board to answer to.

Covers: Global, with city pages for most major markets

Go Fractional

States that it places vetted fractional executives within three days, pre-screened before you meet them, with no deposit and a free replacement.

Suits: Companies who want speed and a shortlist rather than a directory, particularly in technology and marketing seats.

Covers: Primarily the US, with international coverage

Fractionus

States same-day search with matches inside 48 hours, no fee to the hiring company, and a network it describes as over 5,000 leaders.

Suits: Companies who want the widest possible net quickly and are willing to do their own filtering on what comes back.

Covers: States the US, UK and Australia

Fractional Dubai

States vetted fractional executives for Dubai and UAE businesses across CFO, COO, CMO, CTO, CHRO and CRO seats, from brief to deployment in weeks, at a stated 30 to 60 per cent below a full-time hire.

Suits: UAE companies wanting a locally focused platform that understands free zone and mainland structures without needing it explained.

Covers: UAE

Job boards

You post the role and fractional executives apply. Cheap, sometimes free, and the volume is yours to handle. Good when the seat is easy to describe and you have time to read applications.

Fractional Jobs

A job board for fractional roles, which also publishes its own comparison of platforms in this category.

Suits: Companies happy to post a role and read applications, and operators looking for work. Cheapest route on this page, and the one that costs you the most time.

Covers: Global, US-weighted

Fractional firms and practices

The firm supplies one of its own people, usually on a monthly retainer, with a bench behind them. You get continuity and somebody to hold accountable, at a premium over engaging an individual direct.

CFO Ventures

A fractional CFO practice covering the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the wider MENA region, combining finance expertise with its own tooling.

Suits: Companies whose need is specifically finance, particularly where UAE corporate tax and regional compliance are the driver.

Covers: UAE, Saudi Arabia and MENA

Search practices

Somebody runs the market against a written brief and presents a shortlist they can defend. Worth it when the seat is hard, the market is not obvious, or you do not have time to sift. Priced on the appointment.

Fractional Global

Describes curating and embedding vetted senior leaders into growing businesses across global hubs, naming large-enterprise backgrounds among its network.

Suits: Companies wanting an embedded senior leader with large-organisation experience, and an approach closer to search than to self-service browsing.

Covers: Global, with Gulf coverage

What none of us will tell you

Stated network size is the least useful number on any of these sites, including ours. A bench of five thousand and a bench of fifty overlap heavily at the senior end, because the same people list in several places at once, and what decides your outcome is whether one person who has done your specific job is free in the month you need them. Ask any platform how many of its operators have held your seat at your size in your sector, and watch whether the number survives the question.

The second thing worth asking is who pays. Some platforms charge the company, some take a margin on the day rate, some charge the executive to be listed, and some charge neither and monetise a separate search service. None of those is wrong, and all of them shape who you get shown, so it is worth knowing before you read a shortlist.

Where we sit

UAE companies who want the rate visible up front and are comfortable shortlisting themselves. Plainly: our Gulf bench is the smallest of our three markets, and if what you need is deep local knowledge of UAE corporate tax filing or free zone compliance specifically, one of the UAE-native practices above is a better first call than us. What we do publish, which most of this list does not, is the rate: every operator's day rate is on their profile before you speak to anybody, and the market bands for all eleven seats are published openly as data you can take as JSON or CSV. If you would rather not sift at all, Operator Search runs it: three researched candidates against your brief in five business days.

Common questions

What is the best fractional executive platform in the UAE?

The field here is smaller than the UK or the US and splits cleanly: locally native practices that know free zone and mainland structures, global marketplaces with Gulf coverage, and benches you browse yourself. If the work is UAE corporate tax, banking or compliance, local knowledge beats scale. If the work is fundraising, product or growth, experience travels and a global platform widens the field considerably.

How much do fractional executives get paid in the UAE?

AED 2,600 to AED 7,500 a day depending on the seat, which is roughly $700 to $2,050. At two days a week that is about AED 22,500 to AED 65,000 a month. Full bands for all eleven seats, with monthly and annual figures, are published openly on our UAE day rates page.

Can a fractional executive legally work for a UAE free zone company?

Yes, but how depends on the free zone and on the operator's own status. They generally need to provide the service through a properly licensed vehicle: their own company, a freelance permit, or a visa sponsored by somebody. The financial free zones, DIFC and ADGM, have their own legal systems and their own employment law, so the answer is not uniform across the UAE. Confirm the structure before the engagement starts rather than after.

Do I need an operator with UAE experience?

It depends entirely on the work. Corporate tax filing, banking relationships, free zone compliance and audit expectations are learned here and do not transfer from another market, so if that is the job, screen for it specifically. Forecasting, fundraising, pricing, building a finance function or running a product team all travel well, and for those a strong operator from London or New York is not at a disadvantage.

How do I tell a real platform from a lead-generation page?

Three checks. Can you see actual people before handing over your details, or only a form? Is a price published anywhere, or does everything route to a call? And can they say specifically what their vetting consisted of, rather than just asserting that people are vetted? In the UAE add a fourth: can they tell you under what licence their operators invoice. A platform that cannot answer that one has not thought about the market it is selling into.

Compiled September 2026 from each company's own public website. Nothing here has been independently audited by us, including claims about vetting, network size or speed, and a claim being repeated here is not an endorsement of it. Companies change what they offer: check anything you are about to rely on with them directly. If you run one of these platforms and something here is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will correct it.
