Terms of service

1. Who we are

getoperators.co (“getoperators”, “we”) is operated by Ascent. You can reach us at support@getoperators.co. By using the site you agree to these terms.

2. What we provide

We run a directory of fractional and interim executives, and we sell search services to companies who would rather we ran the search than run it themselves. We are a marketplace and a recruiter. We are not an employer, an agency of record, or a party to any engagement you enter into.

3. Accounts

You must give accurate information and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. One person or company, one account. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms or the rules of the bench.

4. Operators

Listing is free. You confirm that everything you publish is true, that your CV supports what you claim, and that the LinkedIn profile you give us is yours. We check both before a listing goes live and we spot-check afterwards. Availability is a status you set: if you are not taking work, switch it off.

You set your own rate and contract directly with the company. We take no commission on anything you agree, and there is nothing an operator can pay us for. Listing, verification, applying to a posted role and appearing on a paid shortlist are all free and equal. No operator can pay to be shortlisted, to rank higher, or to break a tie.

5. Companies

Browsing, opening full profiles, posting a role and booking an operator are all free while we build the bench. Details you leave are passed only to the operators you contact. You contract and pay operators directly; we are not party to that agreement and take nothing from it. If we introduce a paid plan later we will say so before it applies to you, and never retroactively.

6. Search services

Both search tiers are priced the same way: a fee to run the search, and one success fee if you hire. Slate is $999 to run. Engaged is$2,500 to run. Either way the success fee is $2,500, due only if you engage somebody we introduced to you, within 12 months of that introduction. Both fees are payable by the company. Operators pay nothing at any point.

The fee to run the search buys the search, not a hire. It is what pays for the work and it stands whether or not you hire. If you hire nobody, nothing further is due.

The success fee applies only to operators we introduce through a paid search. Anyone you find and book yourself on the bench is free, always, whether or not you have also sent us a brief. It is invoiced after the engagement is agreed, never before, and if the engagement is called off before your operator does any work we cancel it.

Permanent and full-time hires run through our retained search practice, delivered with our search partner. That engagement is contracted between you and the partner on their terms, on retainer, and their fee is the only fee: we add nothing on top of it and we are compensated through the partnership rather than by you separately. Refunds on our own search fees are covered in our refund policy; refunds on a retained permanent search sit under the partner's terms, which you will have in writing before anything starts.

7. Reviews and content

Reviews come only from companies that booked and hired through the bench, from a single-use link, and are checked before publication. You keep ownership of what you upload and grant us the licence needed to display it on the site. We may remove anything false, unlawful, or in breach of the rules.

8. What we don’t do

We do not guarantee that a listing will produce work, that a search will produce a hire, or that any operator or company is suitable for you. Verification confirms identity and experience against documents provided; it is not a reference check, a background check, or an endorsement. Satisfy yourself before you contract with anyone.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the site or our services is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost opportunities, or disputes between a company and an operator.

10. Changes and ending

You may close your account at any time. We may change these terms and will update the date above; material changes will be emailed to account holders. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
